BLURB FROM THE COVER

Journeys to the finish of the world, fantastic creatures and epic battles between good and evil – what more could whatever reader ask for in one volume? That book was The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, written in 1949 by C Due south Lewis. Only Lewis did non stop there. Six more books followed and together they became known as The Chronicles of Narnia.

For the past l years, The Chronicles of Narnia have transcended the fantasy genre to become part of the canon of classic literature. Each of the seven books is a masterpiece, drawing the reader into a world where magic meets reality and the event is a fictional earth whose telescopic has fascinated generations.

This edition presents all seven unabridged books in i impressive volume. The books are presented according to Lewis's preferred order, each chapter graced with illustrations by the books' original artist, Pauline Baynes. Deceptively uncomplicated and direct, The Chronicles of Narnia continue to captivate fans with adventures, characters and truths that speak to readers of all ages, even 50 years afterwards they were first published…

REVIEW

PLOT SUMMARY: Lucy and Edmund return to Narnia for the last time with their rather nasty cousin Eustace Scrubb.  They bring together Caspian, four years into his reign and his crew on a voyage aboard the royal send, The Dawn Treader on a quest to notice seven missing Royal Lords who were sent out into the world past Miraz and never seen again. The quest is fraught with dangers and mystery.

HIGHLIGHTS: The kindly quondam grand-male parent telling a bedtime story vibe is back, though not every bit stiff as information technology was in The King of beasts, The Witch & The Wardrobe. Lewis chats to his readers like a love old friend. One time over again, I'm impressed by how much Lewis manages to pack into then few pages. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader could hands be a couple of hundred pages longer. Lewis has got great skill at storytelling, I mean round the campfire on a winter's night kind of storytelling that's been lost somewhat in gimmicky fiction. Reepicheep is a valiant mouse and an ally of Caspian. I found scenes with the tiny mouse trying to be a brave warrior hilarious. Eustace is turned into a dragon and is somewhen turned back into a boy by Aslan. His time as a dragon taught him a lesson and he's a reformed graphic symbol, no longer the mean and spiteful trivial shit who came aboard the Dawn Treader. This was my favourite department of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. This is my third favourite Narnia relate behind The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and The Magician'due south Nephew. I liked everything almost The Voyage of The Dawn Treader.

LOWLIGHTS: At the end of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Lucy and Edmund detect out they can't come back to Narnia. This made me feel really sad. The four children are the best characters in the Narnia chronicles. The remaining ii books aren't going to be every bit expert without them.

THE OPENING LINE

There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved information technology…

Last THOUGHTS

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was the 3rd Chronicle of Narnia to be published.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was adapted for screen by the BBC in 1989 along with Prince Caspian. They're carve up novels but the BBC combined them into one movie called Prince Caspian & The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0096681/). I take information technology on DVD and have seen it loads of times.

The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was too adapted for the screen past Walden Media / Disney in 2010 (world wide web.imdb.com/title/tt0980970).
